What Are Dentures?
Dentures are artificial dental prostheses that can restore functionality and appearance after the loss of multiple teeth. They are crafted from durable dental materials and custom-designed to resemble one’s original teeth as closely as possible. Available in complete and partial varieties for patients who are missing all of their teeth or just some of their teeth on the upper and/or lower dental arches, dentures can be good alternatives for patients who may not be candidates for dental implants or other missing teeth replacement options.
What Are the Benefits of Dentures?
When it comes to replacing missing teeth, dentures have stood the test of time as an effective and popular treatment option. The potential benefits of dentures include:
Improvement of chewing and speaking, a fully customized denture prosthesis can be made to comfortably and accurately fit the mouth and gums, enhancement of smile appearance, and prevention of changes in facial appearance due to full sets of missing teeth.
Complete and partial dentures are some of the most popular procedures at our practice. While there have been many advances in the field of restorative dentistry that have provided alternative solutions to dentures for missing teeth replacement, these more traditional treatments have also seen numerous advances over the years to make them more customized, comfortable, and effective.

Types of Dentures
Our practice offers an array of denture options for patients missing some or all of their teeth. During your initial consultation, one of our dentists will evaluate your needs and talk with you about the type of denture that can be most ideal for your goals. Some of the more popular options include:
Complete Dentures
Complete dentures are designed for patients who are missing all teeth on either the upper dental arch, the lower dental arch, or both. This type of denture utilizes a full set of custom-designed artificial teeth to provide comprehensive teeth restoration.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures can be useful for patients who are missing multiple teeth in a specific area of the mouth. They are typically removable, and offer patients the advantage of filling large gaps or sections between natural teeth. Our practice also offers fixed dental bridges that may be a good option in certain cases of multiple missing teeth.
All-On-4® Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported dentures can provide enhanced stability for complete custom dentures without the need to rely on dental pastes and putties to keep them secure. The All-On-4® treatment involves the use of a select number of dental implants strategically placed in areas of the mouth that will serve as a foundation for the custom denture.
What Does Denture Treatment Involve?
For complete or partial denture procedures, the first step is to take advanced digital impressions of your oral structures to formulate a blueprint for the design of the denture prosthesis. Then, the custom-denture will be meticulously crafted from the impression in order to provide the most comfortable and well-fitting denture possible. Once the denture has been designed, it will be placed on the gums and evaluated for how well it looks, fits, and feels. Our doctor will then go over all of the details of proper maintenance of the denture to ensure the results last for many years.
